Dr. Kaveri Khound is an Assistant Professor and Department Incharge of Department of Economics at the School of Liberal Arts, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram. She holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. Her doctoral research critically analysed the interlinkages and impacts of migration and ethnic conflict on the socio-economic development of the Bodoland region of Assam. She earned her M.A. in Economics with specialisation in Agricultural Economics and Econometrics, and her B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Dibrugarh University.
Dr. Khound’s academic and research interests encompass development economics, migration and conflict studies, regional development, behavioural and digital economics, sustainable agriculture and manufacturing, public policy, gender studies, and the integration of NEP-2020 in higher education. She has an established publication record, having authored 18 research papers in reputed journals, including Scopus-indexed, ABDC-listed, UGC-CARE journals, and peer reviewed and has contributed chapters to several national and international edited volumes. Her scholarly work has been presented at multiple national and international conferences. In addition, she holds registered design patents in the field of economicsunderscoring her engagement with innovative and applied research.
A recipient of the prestigious ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship, Dr. Khound actively participates in faculty development programmes, academic workshops, and capacity-building initiatives. She demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching excellence, policy-oriented and interdisciplinary research, and dedicated student mentoring, thereby establishing herself as a valued faculty member and academic leader within the University.
